Description:

Cambridge Psychology Group’s Intensive CBT Program for Anxiety and OCD is a 2-week accelerated exposure-based program for clients age 16+ with OCD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, or specific phobia. Clients meet 1-on-1 with a team of highly qualified clinicians for a total of 18 hours to learn CBT skills and complete 10+ hours of supervised exposures. Exposure sessions can take place in the office, at the client’s home, out in the community, or virtually. A senior clinician oversees the treatment, completes the assessment, creates the personalized treatment plan, and holds 4 additional individual sessions. Personalized exposure assignments are assigned daily to be completed independently between sessions to maximize learning and progress.

This high-dose, individually-tailored program helps clients jump start their treatment, get back on track, and accelerate their treatment gains. It offers a more intensive dose of treatment than traditional weekly outpatient therapy, while allowing the client to stay at home to practice the new skills and exposures in their own environment.

After the intensive program, we can transfer the client back to their therapist, or a client may elect to transfer to a CPG clinician to work together 1-2x/week. If interested, clients can opt to complete another 2 weeks of the intensive program, which will be approved on a case-by-case basis.

It has been remarkable how much progress clients have made over a short time when they are willing to face their fears and respond differently! We very much look forward to working with you!

Diversity Statement:

Part of CPG’s hiring process includes actively seeking out staff of diverse backgrounds, in order to create a professional community that reflects the diversity of our clients and society at large, and so we have the ability to match clients looking for clinicians with shared lived experiences. Our diverse staffing leads to rich discussions during staff meetings and internal trainings on culture, individual differences, and identities, and how these aspects shape clients’ lives, symptomatology, and course of treatment. CPG’s clinicians strongly value and enjoy working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities, and are committed to practicing with cultural humility.

CPG clinicians have received extensive training in diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout their graduate programs and continue to actively seek out trainings as professionals in the field. For example, recently attended workshops include, “Culturally Responsive Anti-Racist CBT Practice” by LoPresti and Abdullah and “At a Crossroads: Making APA’s Apology Actionable Through CBT-based Mentoring Practices” by McManus and colleagues. CPG clinicians have worked extensively with underserved populations including ethnic, racial, and gender and sexual minorities. CPG has regular staff meetings and internal trainings focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we have a growing list of shared resources for staff.
