Ashley M. Shaw PhD
At any given time, about 50% of my practice focuses on patients with OCD and related disorders. I have treated dozens of patients with OCD and related disorders, and have supervised many more cases when supervising PhD trainees.
I have expertise in the Unified Protocols for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders and its child and adolescent versions. I have expertise in treating co-occurring anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
I attended graduate school at University of Miami’s Adult Division, where I conducted research and clinical work in the Program for Anxiety, Stress, and OCD. I then completed my internship in the cognitive-behavioral therapy elective at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I also worked in the OCD and Related Disorders Program. I then completed my post-doctoral fellowship in the University of Miami Child Division in the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment (CAMAT) Program. I have been working with patients with OCD and related disorders since 2011.
In addition to my expertise in OCD, I have lived experience with infertility and in vitro fertilization, and am also passionate about providing services to adults with these shared experiences.
I am trained in using the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview and use this during my intake. I have attended many workshops and trainings on working with racially and ethnically diverse patients and LGBTQ+ patients.
