Membership at the IOCDF

Are you a therapist/clinician or student/trainee? For information on Professional Membership click here and Student/Trainee Membership click here.

Effective October 2022, the benefits associated with the Foundation and Community Memberships will be available to anyone seeking community, support, and education.

From its inception, the IOCDF has understood the importance of community — of having a sense of belonging and knowing that you were not alone. From this core value, the IOCDF Membership Program was born, and for decades has served as the source of information, support, and connection for people affected by OCD and related disorders.

Thanks to the support of its members and donors like you, the IOCDF and our community has greatly evolved over the years, expanding its event offerings, education, and training programs. This evolution has included brand new ways for large numbers of newcomers to become involved each year, from participating in the One Million Steps for OCD Walks, to attending a livestream in the Peace of Mind Virtual Community, to becoming a Grassroots Advocate. At the core of this is a way to connect and find much needed community without financial barriers.

With these considerations in mind, we have concluded that the fee-based Foundation and Community Memberships are no longer in line with our core value of community engagement. Our mission is to increase — not limit — people’s access to upcoming IOCDF initiatives and to news about the latest therapy innovations and most recent research findings. We want everyone who engages with us, no matter the capacity, to feel that they are a full member of a large and growing community.

Therefore, effective October 2022, the benefits associated with the Foundation and Community Memberships will be available to anyone seeking community, support, and education.

What does this mean? A yearly membership fee will no longer be required to access the quarterly OCD Newsletter, including the OCD Newsletter Archive going back 30+ years. Every individual involved in our community will be welcome to sign up to receive the OCD Newsletter going forward. Additionally, every member of the community will be eligible for the lowest registration rates for all IOCDF Conferences, including the in-person Annual OCD Conference. Please note, the Professional Membership and Student/Trainee Membership and their associated benefits will remain the same.

We look forward to continuing to build our community together and creating new ways for you to connect with your fellow members. Thank you for your continued belief in our mission.
